Braising, press fittings of flair

Discussion · Sep 8, 2026

Braising, press fittings of flair I’ll be 100% honest I suck at braising 30 years and it is never something I do so it looks pretty. I flow nitrogen and it just takes me forever. I have jumped on the Stay Bright 8. I know it’s not approved for A2L. I don’t have the funds to jump onto the press fittings as of now. But I did oil and LP for years. Can anyone tell me a downside to flaring in systems. Let’s face it coil replacement would be faster in the future.

Just like most things in this trade, the problem inherently lies with the tech performing the task. A good flare beats a crappy braze. You will just have to start stocking flare unions and flare nuts for every size line set/coil you will work on.
