Why is Wrightsoft so, complicated, to use and expensive? To do a simple block load calc, The old version of CoolCal, I have found to be fast reliable and very user friendly. And its ACCA approved. Another thing that kills me with manual J, D, S, books is they make some descriptions broad that they can't be reliable when if something did go wrong. Or when they leave it up to the local jurisdiction. To me the local jurisdiction can override any code if they wanted to anyhow. Thoughts?

Well, wrightsoft and elite had a stranglehold on the market for so long. I will say it also takes a lot of time / money / energy to manage a software project, so it's not free or magic like people tend to portray. I personally also prefer the legacy version of CoolCalc for my loads, but I've sort of built my workflows around it.
