I am a builder of hurricane/disaster resistant homes in coastal NC. I totally seal the envelope including the crawlspace (minimal depth) and the attic space. Blower door numbers around .5 ACH50. Have dedicated dehumidifier separate from HVAC system and blower driven makeup air directly into conditioned attic space prior to being introduced to living spaces.
