Solving the Ventilation Puzzle
Ocoee 34761
Ventilation is the lonely V in residential HVAC. In the last decade, it has become more than just bath fans and range hoods. Homes are getting whole-house mechanical ventilation systems now. Sometimes that’s because of participation in voluntary programs, like ENERGY STAR. Sometimes it’s because the building code requires it. The purpose of whole-house ventilation is to improve indoor air quality, but you can make things worse if you do it wrong.
In this session, I’ll discuss the big issues with residential whole-house ventilation:
- Ventilation air flow rate
- Humidity control
- Filtration
- Strategies
- Ducting
As with all the components of a house, the ventilation system has to “play well with others.” The house is a system, and ventilation is a subsystem that must be integrated properly. This session will help you put all the pieces of the ventilation puzzle together.
